Progression

The masons are nearly complete with the new brick along the northeast corner of the building.  The masons will wrap up this section and then move to the north side as the demolition crew continues to work ahead of them.  The scaffolding on the northeast corner should be ready for removal within a few weeks.

The old bricks that are being removed are being compressed behind the hospital before being loaded and trucked out.  Compressing the bricks will help to reduce the number of truckloads necessary, saving additional costs.

Please remember to not disturb the crews.  If you have any questions or comments, please direct them to Jody Fox, 765-658-2743.

What is the Green Project?

The US Department of Energy has launched a program to assist hospitals in becoming "greener", or more energy efficient.

Weddle Bros. Building Group, LLC, is the construction company that is installing the energy-efficient windows along with replacing the brick and roof.  Through these modifications, we expect to generate a 20% to 40% savings in annual energy costs while providing a healthier healing and work environment.

The construction company will be using nearly 80% of the workforce from within a 30-mile radius of Greencastle, bringing additional revenue to our local economy.
