Guild Volunteers
The Guild has been serving the hospital long before the move to the 1542 South Bloomington location in 1979. Today they stock and operate the gift shop located to the right of the hospital’s main information desk. Gourmet candies, jewelry, and extensive selections of “scrubs” and shoes can periodically be found in one of our lobby areas. All proceeds from these events find their way to either the Putnam County Health Careers Scholarship Fund housed at the Community Foundation or to answer special needs the hospital may have. (This year a $9,000 donation will be used to help complete the furnishings in the new Women’s Health Center here at PCH. The Guild has contributed $31,000 over the past two years to the scholarship fund.)
With 120 volunteers, the Guild acts as good will ambassadors for the hospital: people who unselfishly give of their time and talents; and people whose efforts bring generous donations to the hospital and to health career scholarships. These special individuals are the core of the Putnam County Hospital Guild.
Guild members volunteered 5,440 hours this past year at the hospital.
If you wish to become a Guild member, you may pick up an application at the Hospital Gift Shop.
