What is a Nurse Practitioner?
Nurse Practitioners (NP) are independent healthcare providers that provide primary care services. NPs provide
cost-effective, high quality primary care. Currently, there are 125,000 nurse practitioners in the U.S. Nurse
Practitioners have played a valuable role in the healthcare industry for more than 40 years.
NPs can be found in many different practices and specialties and provide care to patients of all ages. NPs work with
patients to develop an individualized plan of care to assist in preventative and wellness care. NPs are skilled to
diagnose and treat many healthcare needs and are often a patient advocate for care. Nurse Practitioners work in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
Watt is capable of ordering, performing and evaluating necessary tests; diagnosing and treating acute and chronic
ailments; prescribing medications; and building the relationship with patients to ensure the best plan of care is
provided.

What does MSN, APRN, FNP-BC mean?
Watt is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and earned her masters in nursing (MSN) as well
as an advance practice registered nurse (APRN).
