Nuclear Medicine Services

PCH is fortunate to offer a full range of Nuclear Medicine services to our community. This subspecialty of the field of Radiology can obtain specific diagnosis for a wide range of injuries, acute physiological processes and disease processes that affect body anatomy and function. A certified practitioner is available Monday, Wednesday and Friday for this imaging modality.

Nuclear Medicine scans are obtained by injecting a radioisotope, that is specific to the area of the body that your physician is interested in evaluating, intravenously. The isotope travels to area of interest via the blood stream thus allowing the Radiologist to not only determine the size and shape of the area of interest but also evaluate the functioning time and efficiency.
