Putnam County Hospital offers a peaceful facility for patients undergoing cancer treatments. The treatment center is located on the second floor of the hospital and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, please call the center at 765-655-2581.

The Cancer Center was announced as a recipient of a Putnam County Community Foundation, Inc. endowment in 2008.  The Cancer Center receives a "dollar for dollar" matching grant up to $12,500.  If you would like to make a contribution, you may do so by visiting the Cancer Center or by mailing it to Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center, 1542 S. Oncologists

The Cancer Center has three Medical Oncologists/Hematologists that treat patients battling cancer.

Dr. William Dugan, M.D. received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine at Methodist Hospital of Indiana, Inc. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Medical Oncology.

Dr. Hemachandra Venkatesh, M.D. received his medical degree from the Bangalore College and Bangalore University, India. He, also, is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Medical Oncology.

Dr. Frank Workman, M.D. is also Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Medical Oncology.

Oncology Staff

The Cancer Center is staffed by three full time Registered Nurses and one full time LPN. Nurses are oncology trained by Community Cancer Care, Inc. Registered Nurses are Oncology Nurse Certified through the national organization Oncology Nursing Society which enhances patients care.

Cancer Center Accreditation

The Cancer Center is accredited by the American College of Surgeons. Accreditation is renewed every three years after undergoing an extensive review of the cancer program. First review was conducted in 1988 and the Cancer Center remains accredited with the last survey in 2010.
