  • Registration – Info Desk/Switchboard Operator (FT w/Ben.) 2.20.17

    The Information Desk/Switchboard Operator has a variety of job duties. The switchboard is the hub of the Hospital. You will not only receive calls but also greet visitors as they come into PCH, be instrumental in the flow of Outpatients as well as expediting patients needing treatment in the ED. Staff may need you to page a Provider or a staff member. You will also be recording daily employee visits to the gym, running a report to capture all Nursing Facility visits, contacting each Nursing Facility all while constant interruptions with the phone, patients, visitors with questions. But you do it with a huge smile and a pleasant, professional personality who can serve up the best Customers Service. Training as a Registration Clerk will also allow you to fill in as needed in the Registration Department. This position is a full-time position working Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm but the expectation is that you be flexible to work additional hours when necessary.

    The ability to speak clearly, concisely and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public. It is required to be able to multi-task in a frequent stressful setting.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum high school education required plus related experience in a medical setting preferred. Switchboard operation is a plus. Must possess good skills in written and oral communication, organization and work processing. Must be able to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential manner. Physical ability to effectively communicate via telephone and face to face meeting with visitors, patients and co-workers; physical ability to effectively utilize work processing/computer equipment on a routine basis.

  • (2) RN – Emergency (FT w/Ben) – 2.17.17

    We are looking for Two Registered Nurses for our Emergency Department available immediately. These are Full Time positions, benefits eligible.

    1: Full Time - day and evening shift (7a-7p), 2: Rotating shifts including weekends

  • Lab – Phlebotomist (FT w/Ben) – 2.16.17

    We are currently seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture blood collection, urine collection, urine drug screen collection and glucometer operation. Assists with other duties as requested. Previous work experience and medical assistant training helpful but not required.

    Under the general supervision of the laboratory director and bench supervisor, the phlebotomist assumes the responsibility for performing venipuncture and related procedures according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures on patients ranging in age from newborns to geriatrics. Venipuncture and skin punctures are performed competently and expediently using aseptic technique. Has thorough knowledge of test specimen requirements including fasting and dietary requirements.

    Position Requirements: 1. High School graduate or equivalent. 2. Medical assistant or phlebotomy certification preferred. 3. Experience as a phlebotomist in a hospital setting preferred. 4. Excellent customer relation's skills/able to deal effectively and tactfully with patients and visitors of all ages, with co-workers, physician's, and physician office staff. 5.     Putnam County Hospital has a part time opening (12 – 18 hours per week) for an Employee Health Nurse. This position requires a current, active Indiana RN license and BLS certification. The Employee Health Nurse needs to have strong physical assessment and critical thinking skills, as well as, the ability to maintain strict confidentiality. A positive attitude is a must. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work well with the PCH team and have a strong interest in promoting patient and associate safety initiatives.     Candidate Qualifications:

    We are looking for a housekeeper to clean and service building areas, move furniture, equipment and supplies in and around the facility. Perform a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the facility in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition.

    Regulatory Requirements:
    • Some related experience in the healthcare setting preferred.
    • Must have knowledge of proper housekeeping technique and procedures.
    • Must know appropriate house cleaning equipment and supplies used to complete assigned duties.
    • Must be a High School Graduate

  • Laboratory Manager (Exempt, FT w/Ben) – 12.15.16

    Job Requirements
    Must have minimum of BS from an accredited college of Medical Technology, Board of Registry examination Certification for Medical Technologist (ASCP, HEW/HHW, NCA, AMT) Minimum of four years’ experience in the clinical laboratory with at least two years in a supervisory position.

    Job Responsibilities Ensures that laboratory procedures are performed as defined in accepted standards of regulatory agencies (CAP, HFAP, ISDH, CLIA, etc.) Maintains compliance with hospital safety and infection control policies Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies Monitors compliance with the plans related to blood borne pathogens and chemical hygiene Department and staff supervision per Hospital policy Troubleshoots problems with laboratory instruments.

    This is a full time exempt, benefit eligible position.

  • Patient Account Rep (FT w/Ben) – 11.29.16

    Knowledge of third party payor procedures and collection techniques. Ability to deal effectively with patients and co-workers. Good follow through skills. Ability to communicate clearly
    Post cash/check receipts (co-pays) and miscellaneous monies received via the mail and interoffice into the computer and prepare daily bank deposit by remote deposit, CC online or deposit slips. Post insurance/patient payments received via lock box or EFT daily.
    Process refunds and payment plans daily. Post and issue refunds
    Process Collections Agency Remits weekly
    Respond to inquiries concerning account balances, third party payments, etc., from patients, relatives and/or third party payers in a timely manner.
    Routinely review all claims that have been entered into the system for 30-45 days within your designated insurance group
    Contact third party payers by telephone or online that have failed to make appropriate payments with follow up correspondence (or fax), as indicated.
    Demonstrates good judgment and reasoning when investigating and solving problems. Demonstrates good judgment in respecting the confidentiality of patient and employee information. Seeks guidance and direction in the performance of responsibilities and duties. Consistently acts as a customer service representative for the company.

This position is located in our hospital in our newly renovated 3rd floor specialty clinic in Greencastle, Indiana. It is a full-time, day shift and benefit eligible position. Certification & experience are required.

    Experience for this position includes:

    • Electronic Medical Records documentation in all of the following systems will be a requirement: Allscripts, EPIC, Cerner, CPSI, NextGen
    • Insurance, recertification and authorizations

    Our Laboratory Department is currently seeking an MLT to perform testing in all areas. This associate will also be required to perform venipuncture as needed and to hold a current MLT (ASCP) certification. This position is prn/as needed, while also working weekends and holidays.
