  • Maintenance Specialist – 07/16/14

    Putnam County Hospital is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Maintenance Department . This position involves assisting in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the hospital and the remote doctor's offices in good repair.

    This position requires a valid Indiana driver's license, scheduled weekend rotations, on call responsibilities, high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and three to six (3-6) months related work experience in Building Maintenance

    Ideal candidate will possess strong background in Electrical, HVAC, Steam Production, Commercial Plumbing, Bio-medical or related experience.

    This is a full-time position and is eligible for full benefits.

    We are currently seeking a friendly, patient-focused Licensed Practical Nurse for our Putnam Pediatric and Internal Medicine practice (PPIM). This position is located in our hospital based physician practice in Greencastle, Indiana. It is a  full-time, day shift and benefit eligible position.

    Certification is required and experience is preferred.

    Experience for this position includes:

    • Electronic Medical Records (Allscripts)
    • Insurance, precertification and authorizations
    • Triage of telephone calls and scheduling
    • Rooming patients and taking medial history

  • Network Administrator 4/24/14

    The Network Administrator reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and is mainly responsible for: Improving work procedures, communications, and relationships among the networking department and other hospital department’s staff;  Supervising department personnel and all department functions; Attending committee meetings and participating in their activities; Participating in the hospital quality assessment and improvement activities, not only for the departments ongoing monitors but also for designated QAPI projects; Ensuring that hospital employees have the supplies and functioning equipment needed to do their jobs.

     JOB DUTIES include: 1) System Installations: a)  Responsible for the installation, upgrading, replacement, troubleshooting and repair of the Hospital’s computer system hardware; b)  Responsible for the installation, upgrading, replacement, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of standalone systems, networks, computers, printers and miscellaneous equipment as needed. 2) Networking Support: a)  Provides networking, hardware, software, and relational database support for the  Hospital’s information system and all associated hardware and operating systems, including both data and voice communication systems; b)  Provides training, installations, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting on all hardware; c)  Assists Hospital departments with system software problems and inquires; d)  Acts as an intermediary between vendors and Hospital staff; e)  Participates in 24 hour on-call coverage to support the Hospital Information System; 3) Network Maintenance: a) Maintains interfaces, communications, enhancements and integration among Hospital sub-systems and between Hospital information systems and outside vendors; b) Analyzes information system’s needs, forecasts and develops options, recommends coordinated solutions for system infrastructure, maintenance, project supervision and training; c) Evaluates department requests for automation, hardware and software purchases, makes recommendations as to their appropriateness; d) Implements and provides new and/or upgraded software for the Hospital’s computer systems and standalone departmental systems; e) Assists Hospital departments with system software problems and inquires; f ) Works with Hospital physician staff in setup and training of remote access to the Hospital system; g) Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards and Hospital policies. h) Providing continuing education with instructional programs as learning experiences for Respiratory Care staff and other departments; i)  Providing leadership in complex assignments and performance of clinical care at a high level of proficiency; j)  Overseeing the training process for students and department staff.

    EDUCATION: 1) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience; 2) Training and experience with Microsoft operating systems; 3) Microsoft networking training and or certification preferred;

    EXPERIENCE: 1) Minimum five years of experience.  Must have a thorough knowledge of the various P.C. systems, hardware and software.  Must be able to think logically to develop automated solutions.  Must be able to understand the application areas and be able to work with Hospital personnel in those areas. Interacts daily with other departments, administration, and outside vendors to troubleshoot, load upgrades, and perform preventive maintenance and inventory.

  • Patient Account Rep

    Position is responsible for collection on outstanding AR. This includes working reports, calling payers, submitting appeals, processing correspondence. Individual will assist patients, family members, visitors and clinical personnel via phone and face to face with account balances. Collect payments, set up payment arrangements. Experience with patient accounting in a healthcare organization; collections or medical billing experience is necessary. This is a full time, benefit elgible position working Monday thru Friday 9 to 5pm.


    Putnam County Hospital is looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to work in our North Putnam Family Healthcare physician office.

    Tasks and Responsibilities include:

     •Assess the health status, illness conditions, response to illness and health risks of individuals, families, and groups, employing the skills of taking histories, conducting physical examinations, and using laboratory and other diagnostic data.

    •Diagnose the actual or potential health problem and need, based upon analysis of the data collected.

    •Plan therapeutic interventions jointly with the patient. The goal is to develop the problem solving and self-care abilities of the patient to the greatest possible extent. The diagnosis gives direction to the plan of care, although the plan may include actions needed to further delineate (or diagnose) the problem.

     •Evaluate with the patient-and when indicated, with the collaborating health care provider, team, and/or consulting specialist-the effectiveness, comprehensiveness, and continuity of the intervention through assessment, modification of the plan, if necessary, and documentation of health care outcomes.


    Qualified candidates must have a Masters of Nursing Science (MSN) from an NLN or CCNE accredited school of nursing with preparation as a FNP; currently licensed registered nurse in the state of Indiana; Board Certified; Nurse Practitioner authorization or eligible and 2 plus years of experience in a physician office setting preferred.

  • Quality Management Coordinator (4/15/14)

    We are looking for an outstanding candidate for the Quality Management Coordinator with Putnam County Hospital.  Position will be responsible for the overall planning and implementing the performance improvement program to meet the standards of the hospital. 

    This position provides quality improvement education to medical staff, hospital staff, and the Governing Body.  Facilitates performance improvement activities throughout the organization, including hospital owned practices.  Acts as a resource person to the administrative team, department managers, and medical staff.  Assists with the preparation of all regulatory body surveys, i.e. HFAP, State Licensing Review, and CMS Validation surveys. 

    Candidate must hold a current RN license in the State of Indiana and consistently demonstrate a professional, self-directed, mature, disciplined, and tactful approach to department responsibilities.  Previous experience in performance improvement activities and acute care nursing preferred.  In addition, candidate must possess the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.  Must have computer knowledge, word processing and database management preferred.  This is a full time, benefit eligible position.

  • Laboratory Bench Supervisor (full-time) 1/30/14

    The Laboratory Bench Supervisor position is a full-time, benefit eligible position working days, Monday -Friday 8a-4:30p.  At least one of the following is required:  an Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science in Medical technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biology, Chemistry or related science. At least one of the following is preferred:  progression from MLT to MT status per ASCP (or equivalent) certification guidelines, certification as an MT or MLT by ASCP, AMT or NCA, or completed an information system operation training course provided by the information system vendor either on-site or at the vendor's training facility.  This position also requires a general knowledge of laboratory testing in the areas of:  hematology, microbiology, serology, blood banking, urinalysis, chemistry and drugs of abuse.  Knowledge of quality control, quality assurance and performance improvement, equipment troubleshooting,  and technical procedure writing.  Please fill out an online application and attach your resume for consideration.
