Ashley Rourke, RN, CLS

Breastfeeding Coordinator | Putnam and Owen County WIC

I am a Registered Nurse with 5 years of clinical experience in diverse healthcare settings, including WIC management, Child Nutrition and Education, OB/GYN, Family Planning services and Geriatric care. I hold an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. I attended Ivy Tech Community College in Greencastle, IN. I have a passion for supporting breastfeeding mothers—offering evidence-based education, hands-on guidance, and emotional encouragement during the prenatal and crucial postpartum period. I strive to help new mothers feel empowered and confident in their feeding choices and help them create a feeding plan that best supports them. Continuing education is a key part of my role, I have pursued additional training in lactation and plan to obtain my IBCLC in the future. My goal is to be a reliable and compassionate resource for women through every phase of life—especially during the transition to motherhood. Outside of my nursing career, I have been with my Husband for 13 years and married for 5. We have a wonderful and adventurous 3 year old daughter and we are anxious to watch our family grow. We have two dogs, a cat and several chickens. We enjoy being outside, gardening and going to air shows. I breastfed my daughter for over 2 years, overcame many bumps and complications during my breastfeeding journey. Having supportive people in your life helps with any season of motherhood, especially breastfeeding. The WIC team is here to support and help the moms in our community through their seasons of motherhood.

Erica Hill-WIC Coordinator

Erica Hill – born and raised in Putnam County and now raising her family in Putnam County. She’s been married to her high school sweetheart, Brice Hill, for 27 years. They have two amazing children, Aubrey and Drew. Erica has been an RN since 2001 working in a variety of nursing roles over the past 24 years. She was previously with PCH for 18 years and has loved working locally and helping the local community she lives in. She attends Bethel Baptist Church and loves to spend time with her family. Outside of work she loves spending time outdoors and playing with her dogs.

Margaret Steele-Rogers

Breastfeeding Peer Counselor and Triage MA

I am the breastfeeding peer counselor with WIC and triage MA for the Johnson Nichols clinic. I have worked for PCH for about 3.5 years and been with WIC for almost 2 years. I’m very passionate about helping women feel empowered and strive to help women recognize and nurture their strength, potential, and individuality. My role as a breastfeeding peer counselor is to promote healthy breastfeeding practices and ensure that families feel supported in their breastfeeding journey. It is an absolute privilege to be part of our client’s support system during a transition period that can be very challenging. I am the proud mother of two children—a 10-year-old son and a 7-year-old daughter. I deeply enjoy spending time with them and watching them grow. In my spare time, I have a passion for reading, antiquing, gardening, and hiking.
